Trauma Informed Practice (TIP)

Bessel A.Van Der Kolk
I provide Trauma Informed Practice (TIP) training for a range of sectors who would like to learn more about trauma and how to support people who have been impacted by trauma.
My courses are embedded in the theory and practice around trauma recovery, and can be tailored to the needs of each organisation. Please take a look at a couple of example courses which are both one and two day in length. Please get in touch for a more detailed discussion about how I might be able to support your organisation.

Who is Trauma Informed Practice Training for?
Trauma Informed Practice Training is for anyone who works alongside children and families and would like to know more about the impact of traumatic, adverse experiences on our brain development. Training participants learn how we can build resilience around children, families and ourselves.
Course methods
This course is a mixture of practical and theoretical Trauma Informed Practice learning. A mixed method of learning will be applied, such as the use of case study, self-reflection, videos, and small and large group work. There will also be a small amount of self-regulation teaching which we can also teach to children and parents and our own families.
For the virtual learning option there will also be the use of pre-recorded videos.
